Better than botox (and available now)
Whilst here at Rock My Age we believe that the real female superpower lies within - and working on our internal worlds is the best work we will ever do - we also hugely appreciate the joy, power and fun that comes with fashion, beauty and the use of colour and light
So as many of us are tentatively starting to think that just maybe a summer holiday isn’t out of the question, we had a peak in our wardrobes to dig out something to match our lifting moods.
We love fashion, but we also take our responsibility to sustainability and ethical living very seriously. At the same time the fashion industry has taken such a hit during lockdown and there is a huge issue around jobs and business survival. Forecasts are showing us clearly that it is women who are most likely to be hit by a downturn here as more work in this industry. Like everything in life, we think that there is a middle line to walk here. So shopping in our own wardrobe, combined with buying a few little extras, seems to be a good way forward.
Quick flick through the Saturday newspapers this week and we flinched at the number of headlines promising to “take 10 years off by dressing like this”. (Do any women REALLY want to do that - we need to run a Rock My Age survey to ask you what you really think)… We won’t go there, but in the spirit of our ethos to cater to “women who want to dance to a different tune” we think that these little tips may add that little Joie de Vive to our lives
Rixo dresses are simply gorgeous and scream “summer fun”. Beautiful colours, and the shapes are so feminine, but in a kind of sexy siren way. Love them.
Wear something a little crazy - we are loving our Rock My Age t-shirts and sweats. They provide an instant smile from passers by and are great conversation openers.
Go OTT with jewellery. We adore the layered look of a few chains around the neck, a gorgeous chunky bracelet and if you wear just one thing make it statement earrings - they are so powerful. These gold zenyu chandelier hoops from Missoma are bold enough to get noticed, but not too heavy to weigh down the ears.
Bright lipsticks and strong shades. Forget boring nude shades, bright pinks, corals and reds really shake us up and are so very French
LED lights make such a difference on video/zoom calls. Ever seen a lighting crew on a film/TV set - there’s a reason why this is such a big part of productions. They aren’t expensive, but if you’re looking to make impact and influence professionally they are worth every penny.
Botox? - Some do some don’t. We support anything that gives women a choice that makes them feel better about themselves. Our only, and very important, advice is go to somebody who is medically trained e.g. doctor, nurse or dentist. They understand the structures of the face and what not to do and what to do if anything goes wrong. Remember that NO medical procedure is risk free.
