In conversation with LIZ RIVERS - Part 2

Purpose, Power, Presence – three incredibly important themes and qualities that make the difference between a woman leader thriving or just surviving.

Speaking with Liz Rivers, a leadership coach, who started her career as a litigation lawyer, we  share ideas on how women need to; trust their own instinct and inner voice more, take up ‘the space’ they deserve and help shape a world where, speaking up and out, isn’t seen as ‘being difficult’ but is seen as valued and valuable.

We shared a lot of common ground around the importance of somatic work, reconnecting with how the body can help us thrive and enhance effective decision making. The need for greater value being placed on intuition and creativity and the shift from using power as an authoritative energy to a collaborative energy. It feels like the time is ripe for a shift from ‘the heroic leader’ to the ‘integrated leader’.

And whilst the ability for women leaders to truly influence in a male dominated world (particularly in some sectors) is still really challenging, there are promising signs of change. Time will tell…
