Something for the Weekend.... We so recommend the Netflix documentary on Michelle Obama's Becoming. We loved the book, but the documentary provides a fascinating peek behind the scenes. Oh and the outfits are breath taking - pure Hollywood.

Yup we already knew we love love love Michelle - but this provided a deeper insight into a truly extraordinary human being. At 60 right at the top of her game.

What struck us most was, despite her mega watt star power, her focus is on helping young women rise and shine - whatever their back ground and circumstances. She urges all women to think hard about what they want to do and who they want to be. It is the rock solid internal World that provides the foundations for great, happy, valuable lives - we think. A partner is lovely to have - but we agree with Michelle that this platform needs to be built first.

Like her husband, her humility, humanity and quiet but rock solid confidence shines through at every turn.

It's a heady combination for real female power - we think. But as she says "it wasn't always this way". As any "strong woman" will probably testify there's a balance here. If you're seen as too ballsy you get labelled "angry" and "preachy" - Michelle, like many of us, had to ditch the very traits that men get praised for, and find that softer power which seems to be so much more influential.

Rock My Age just loves this woman
